Founded in 1952 in Anchorage, Alaska, Credit Union 1 is a full-service financial institution dedicated to the "people helping people" philosophy. As a not-for-profit cooperative, it is owned and governed by its members, with earnings returned to them in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings dividends, and improved services. Originally established to serve government employees, it has since expanded its field of membership to serve a diverse community across Alaska and the United States, offering personal and business banking, loans, mortgages, and investment services.
