Founded in 1999, CONTACT was the first Russian money transfer system. It provided a platform for individuals to send and receive money, as well as make payments to various service providers, both domestically and internationally. The system operated through an extensive network of partner banks and service points. In 2017, CONTACT became part of the QIWI Group, with QIWI Bank (JSC) acting as its operator. However, in February 2024, the Central Bank of Russia revoked QIWI Bank's license, leading to a complete suspension of all CONTACT system operations.
