Founded in 1974, Community Investment Corporation (CIC) is a nonprofit organization and certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) created to address disinvestment in Chicago's neighborhoods. It functions as a mortgage lender, pooling capital from a consortium of member banking institutions to provide financing for the purchase and renovation of multifamily apartment buildings, primarily in low- and moderate-income communities. CIC's mission is to be a leading force in neighborhood revitalization by providing the financing and resources necessary to create and preserve affordable and quality rental housing.
