Created by the Colorado General Assembly in 1981, the Colorado Water Resources and Power Development Authority is a body corporate and a political subdivision of the State of Colorado. Its primary mission is to finance the design, construction, and improvement of drinking water, wastewater, and other essential water-related projects for local government entities. The Authority achieves this by issuing tax-exempt and taxable bonds and using the proceeds to provide low-interest loans, thereby supporting the state's public health, environmental quality, and economic development.
