Chi-X Global Technology
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 2007, Chi-X Global was a pioneer in creating alternative trading venues (often called "dark pools" or multilateral trading facilities) designed to compete with traditional stock exchanges by offering faster execution speeds and lower trading costs. The company's proprietary technology platform was the core of its business, enabling it to launch successful exchanges in Europe, Canada, Japan, and Australia. Over the years, its various regional entities were acquired, culminating in the 2021 acquisition of Chi-X Asia Pacific (including its Australian and Japanese exchanges) by Cboe Global Markets. The Chi-X brand has since been retired, and its technology and operations are now fully integrated into Cboe's global platform.
