The Centre for Excellence in Financial Inclusion (CEFI) was established in 2013 as an initiative of the Government of Papua New Guinea, supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Australian Government. Operating as a not-for-profit company, CEFI's mission is to drive and coordinate efforts to achieve financial inclusion in Papua New Guinea. It works with the Bank of Papua New Guinea, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to develop accessible and affordable financial services, enhance financial literacy, and create a supportive policy environment for all citizens, particularly those in rural and underserved communities.
