CashCall, Inc. was an American financial services company founded in 2003 and based in Orange, California. The company specialized in providing unsecured personal loans, often marketing heavily to consumers with subprime credit. CashCall became well-known for its aggressive advertising and was also involved in mortgage and small business lending. Over the years, the company faced extensive legal scrutiny and numerous lawsuits from state and federal regulators, most notably the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), concerning its lending practices, collections, and extremely high interest rates, which were deemed illegal in many states. Following a landmark judgment against it, the company ceased its loan origination and servicing operations.
