Its primary subsidiary, CresCom Bank, operated as a community bank offering a wide range of personal and commercial banking services, including checking and savings accounts, loans, mortgages, and wealth management. The company focused on serving communities throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. In May 2020, Carolina Financial Corporation was officially acquired by and merged into United Community Banks, Inc. (UCBI), and its operations and branding were integrated into United Community Bank.
