The company specialized in the exploration, development, and production of crude oil and natural gas, with its main assets located offshore Nigeria. Over time, its public E&P affiliate, CAMAC Energy Inc., became the primary operational entity, later rebranding to Erin Energy Corporation in 2015. Despite initial successes, the company faced financial difficulties exacerbated by falling oil prices and operational challenges, leading Erin Energy to file for bankruptcy protection in 2018 and cease operations.
