BRD - Groupe Société Générale is one of the largest banks in Romania, both in terms of assets and market share. Originally established as the National Society for Industrial Credit in 1923, it evolved into the Romanian Development Bank (Banca Română pentru Dezvoltare - BRD) after 1990. In 1999, the French banking group Société Générale acquired a majority stake, integrating BRD into its international network. The bank provides universal banking services, including retail banking (loans, deposits, cards), corporate and investment banking, asset management, and leasing, serving millions of clients through an extensive network of branches and digital platforms across the country.
