Information by Research TrustFinance
ConvergEx Group was formed in 2006 when BNY Mellon, in partnership with private equity firm GTCR, spun off BNY Mellon's execution services businesses into a new, independent entity. The company operated as a leading agency-focused brokerage and technology partner for institutional clients globally, offering execution services in equities, options, and futures, alongside a suite of financial technologies, including highly-regarded Execution Management Systems (EMS). Its mission was to provide conflict-free execution and technology solutions to asset managers, hedge funds, and other broker-dealers. In June 2017, ConvergEx was acquired by Cowen Inc. and its operations were fully integrated, leading to the retirement of the ConvergEx brand.
