Founded in 1996 by a consortium of banks with support from the City of Birmingham, the Birmingham Business Resource Center (BBRC) serves as a 'one-stop-shop' for small business development and financing. Its mission is to create economic opportunity and wealth for citizens in the Birmingham metropolitan area by providing trusted business expertise and capital to help start and grow local businesses. The BBRC offers services including business plan development, financial literacy training, and various loan programs to support emerging and existing enterprises.
