The Barclays Accelerator, powered by Techstars - London was a highly competitive 13-week program launched in 2014 as a partnership between Barclays Bank and the global accelerator network, Techstars. The program's mission was to identify and nurture promising early-stage FinTech companies from around the world by providing seed funding, intensive mentorship from industry experts at Barclays and Techstars, and access to a vast network of investors and partners. It was one of the first and most prominent corporate-backed FinTech accelerators, focusing on innovations in areas like payments, lending, wealth management, cybersecurity, and regulatory technology (RegTech). While the program is no longer active, its alumni companies form a significant portfolio in the global FinTech ecosystem.
