Founded in 1800, Banque de France is an independent institution integrated into the Eurosystem. As a member of the European System of Central Banks, it contributes to the implementation of the Eurozone's single monetary policy, manages a portion of the European Central Bank's foreign exchange reserves, ensures the smooth operation of payment systems, and supervises the banking and insurance sectors through its supervisory arm, the ACPR.
