Information by Research TrustFinance
Bank PHB Plc, formerly Platinum Habib Bank, was a major commercial bank in Nigeria. It was formed in 2005 through the merger of Platinum Bank Plc and Habib Nigeria Bank Plc. The bank provided a wide range of financial services, including retail, corporate, and investment banking. Following the Nigerian banking crisis of 2009, Bank PHB was deemed insolvent by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). After failing to recapitalize, its banking license was officially revoked on August 5, 2011. Its assets, liabilities, and operations were transferred to a state-created "bridge bank," Keystone Bank Limited, which continues to operate today.
