Bank M Tanzania Plc was a commercial bank headquartered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, that commenced operations in 2007. It focused primarily on corporate and investment banking, targeting high-net-worth individuals and large corporations with a mission to be a leading innovative and service-oriented bank. However, in August 2018, the Bank of Tanzania (the country's central bank) took over its management due to critical liquidity issues and failure to meet maturing obligations. This led to its eventual acquisition and merger into Azania Bank in January 2019, at which point the Bank M brand and entity ceased to exist.
