Banca Romaneasca
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 1992, Banca Romaneasca grew to become a significant player in the Romanian banking sector. For much of its modern history, it was a member of the National Bank of Greece (NBG) Group. The bank provided a comprehensive portfolio of financial products and services, including retail banking (loans, deposits, cards), SME and corporate banking, and treasury services. In 2019, NBG sold its majority stake to Export-Import Bank of Romania (EximBank). The legal and operational merger was finalized in 2022-2023, with all Banca Romaneasca operations, clients, and assets being absorbed into EximBank, which now operates as a universal bank for both individuals and companies.
