Originally founded in 1936 as Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union (ABECU) to serve the employees of the Anheuser-Busch brewery, the institution has grown significantly over the decades. In 2021, the credit union unified its brands, including ABECU and American Eagle Credit Union (AECU), under the single name American Eagle Credit Union. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to provide members with safe, competitive, and convenient financial services, returning profits to members in the form of better rates and lower fees.
