Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank (AGTB) was established as the world's first digital-only trade finance bank, with its headquarters in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). Its mission was to address the global trade finance gap by using technology, including blockchain and artificial intelligence, to provide accessible and efficient trade finance solutions for corporate clients. The bank was a joint venture between the UK's AGTB Holdings and Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Investment Company. Despite its innovative approach, the company announced in late 2022 that it would cease operations and undergo a solvent wind-down.
