The American Savings Education Council (ASEC) was founded in 1995 as a non-profit national coalition of public and private sector partners. Its mission is to raise public awareness about the importance of long-term personal financial independence and to encourage personal savings. ASEC is a program of the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), a non-profit, non-partisan research organization. Through initiatives like the "Choose to Save®" national public education campaign, ASEC provides a wide range of unbiased financial resources and tools to help individuals plan and save for retirement.
