Founded in 1961, Alpha Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative. Initially established to serve the employees of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory, it has since expanded its field of membership to include employees of over 100 sponsor companies, as well as individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Middlesex and Norfolk Counties in Massachusetts. As a credit union, its mission is to provide its members with a full range of financial services, including savings, checking, loans, and investment products, while operating for their benefit rather than for profit.
