Originally established in 2003 as Allianz China General Insurance, it was the first wholly foreign-owned general insurance company approved to operate in China. In 2018, the company underwent a significant transformation when JD.com, a leading Chinese e-commerce and technology company, invested to become the second-largest shareholder. The company was subsequently rebranded to JD Allianz Property & Casualty Insurance Co., Ltd. Its mission is to leverage Allianz's global insurance expertise and risk management capabilities with JD.com's advanced digital technology and extensive ecosystem to provide comprehensive and accessible insurance solutions to customers across China.
