Alawwal Bank

Originally founded in 1926 as the Saudi Hollandi Bank, it was the first operating bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2016, it rebranded to Alawwal Bank ("The First Bank"). In a landmark move for the Saudi financial sector, Alawwal Bank legally merged with The Saudi British Bank (SABB) on June 16, 2019. The combined entity continued to operate under the SABB name until a final rebranding in 2023 to "Saudi Awwal Bank," reflecting the integrated heritage of both institutions. Today, Saudi Awwal Bank is a leading, full-service financial institution in Saudi Arabia, offering a comprehensive range of services in retail, corporate, private, and investment banking, as well as treasury and insurance services to individuals, SMEs, and large corporations.
