Originally founded to serve the employees of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, the Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Employees Federal Credit Union was a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative providing banking services. In 2010, it merged with the larger Alaska USA Federal Credit Union to offer its members a wider range of products and a larger branch network. Alaska USA continued to expand, and in 2023, it rebranded to Global Credit Union to better reflect its diverse, worldwide membership, which includes communities in Alaska, the U.S. Pacific Northwest, Arizona, California, and U.S. military personnel serving worldwide. Global Credit Union's mission is to enrich the lives of its members through world-class financial services.
