AKBANK T.A.S. B TIPI UZUN VADELI TAHVIL BONO FONU was a "Type B" mutual fund, a classification formerly used in Turkey to denote funds primarily invested in debt instruments. Managed by Ak Portföy Yönetimi A.Ş., the asset management arm of Akbank, this fund's strategy was to invest in long-term Turkish government bonds and treasury bills. Following a major regulatory overhaul by the Turkish Capital Markets Board (SPK) effective July 1, 2014, the "Type A" and "Type B" fund classifications were eliminated and replaced with a new system based on asset composition. As a result, this fund, like others in its class, was renamed and re-categorized to align with the new regulations.
