Established in 2018, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) is a unique initiative to create a leading financial services hub in the region. It operates within a special legal regime based on the principles of English common law, which is a first for the post-Soviet space. The AIFC's key bodies include an independent financial regulator (Astana Financial Services Authority - AFSA), the AIFC Court, and the International Arbitration Centre (IAC). Its mission is to attract investment, develop local capital markets, ensure a favorable business environment, and foster the growth of services in areas like asset management, private banking, green finance, and financial technology.
