Agave is a decentralized finance (DeFi) lending protocol that operates on the Gnosis Chain (formerly xDAI). As a fork of the popular Aave protocol, it allows users to lend their crypto assets to earn interest or borrow other assets by providing collateral. The protocol is managed by a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), where AGVE token holders can vote on governance proposals. The project's history includes a significant security exploit in March 2022, after which the protocol was paused and later relaunched with security enhancements.
