AFRESA SACCO Society Limited was established in 1982, initially to serve the employees of the African Reinsurance Corporation (Nairobi office). It has since expanded its membership. The SACCO's core mission is to promote thrift among its members by providing a means of saving and to create a source of funds for granting loans and credit at fair and reasonable interest rates. It operates under the Co-operative Societies Act of Kenya and is regulated by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA), offering both Back Office Service Activities (BOSA) and Front Office Service Activities (FOSA).
