Founded in 2015 by Jake Jolis and Allen Wang, Hummingbill was a Y Combinator (W15 batch) backed startup designed to streamline the accounts receivable process for businesses. The platform offered software that automated the creation and sending of invoices, sent intelligent payment reminders to clients, and helped reconcile payments once they were made. The company's mission was to save businesses time and improve their cash flow by simplifying billing and collections. In January 2017, Hummingbill was acquired by the Dutch cloud communications company MessageBird, and its team and technology were integrated to enhance MessageBird's offerings.
