Through its subsidiaries, VaaS built a vast network of vehicle-mounted cameras to capture and catalog license plate data, which is then accessed by clients through a proprietary software platform. In January 2019, VaaS was acquired by Motorola Solutions for $445 million and its technologies were integrated into Motorola's command center software suite.
