Chartered in 1936, the Tuscaloosa VA Federal Credit Union was originally established to serve the employees of the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, it is owned and operated by its members. The credit union's mission is to provide quality financial services to meet the needs of its members, returning profits to them in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and reduced fees. Membership is primarily open to active or retired military personnel, veterans, and their families residing in specific Alabama counties.
