Student Debt Solution Center, legally known as Express Enrollment Center LLC, was a California-based company that marketed student loan debt relief services to consumers across the United States. The company claimed to help borrowers lower their monthly payments or obtain loan forgiveness through federal programs, often by falsely implying an affiliation with the U.S. Department of Education. In December 2017, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a complaint against the company and its operators, alleging they were running an illegal debt relief scheme. The charges included deceiving consumers with false promises and charging illegal upfront fees for services that individuals could access for free. A federal court subsequently issued a temporary restraining order that halted the company's operations and froze its assets.
