Originally chartered in 1956 as Goddard Federal Credit Union to serve the employees of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, the institution rebranded to Spectra Credit Union in 2023. As a member-owned cooperative, it operates on a not-for-profit basis, returning earnings to members through lower loan rates, higher savings yields, and fewer fees. The credit union provides a full suite of financial services, including savings and checking accounts, personal loans, mortgages, and investment services, with a mission to serve as the primary financial institution for its members.
