Originally chartered in 1956 as the Painted Post-Corning Teachers Federal Credit Union, ServU has grown to serve a wider community. As a not-for-profit financial institution, its mission is to provide services that simplify the lives of its members and help them achieve their financial goals. Unlike a traditional bank, its profits are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and fewer fees. Membership is primarily open to individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in several counties in New York.
