The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) is the central bank of the Republic of Zimbabwe, established by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Act of 1964. Its primary mission is to foster and maintain price and financial stability to support sustainable economic development. The RBZ's core functions include formulating and implementing monetary policy, issuing currency, acting as the banker and financial advisor to the government, managing the country's gold and foreign reserves, and supervising the banking sector to ensure the safety and soundness of the financial system.
