Founded in 2008, Rang De began as a non-profit organization with a mission to combat poverty in India by providing cost-effective micro-loans to underserved communities. In 2019, it transitioned into Rang De P2P Financial Services Pvt Ltd, a for-profit social enterprise registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as an NBFC-P2P (Non-Banking Financial Company - Peer to Peer Lending Platform). The platform enables individuals (social investors) to directly lend small amounts of money to entrepreneurs and students in rural and semi-urban areas, fostering financial inclusion and social impact.
