Founded in 1999, Pacific Western Bank was a state-chartered commercial bank headquartered in Beverly Hills, California, and was the primary subsidiary of PacWest Bancorp. The bank built a reputation as a relationship-based community bank, providing a wide range of loan and deposit products and treasury management services. It had a significant focus on commercial real estate lending and venture banking, serving entrepreneurs and investors. Following the banking turmoil in early 2023, PacWest Bancorp agreed to an all-stock merger with Banc of California. The merger was completed on November 30, 2023, with the combined entity now operating under the Banc of California name and brand.
