Chartered in 1955, Olean Area Federal Credit Union began by serving employees of the Olean-area Socony-Vacuum Oil Company refinery. It has since grown into a community-chartered credit union dedicated to the philosophy of "people helping people." As a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members, it focuses on providing affordable financial services, including savings and checking accounts, loans, mortgages, and investment services, to its community rather than generating profit for stockholders.
