Founded in 2016 by Niklas Adalberth, a co-founder of the fintech company Klarna, Norrsken Foundation is a Swedish non-profit organization. Its mission is to support and accelerate startups that aim to create a positive impact on society and the planet, often referred to as "impact startups." The foundation operates an "impact ecosystem" that includes physical co-working hubs called Norrsken Houses in Stockholm, Kigali, and Barcelona, an impact-focused accelerator program, and Norrsken VC, a venture capital fund that invests in high-impact, scalable businesses. Norrsken's ultimate goal is to foster the growth of "impact unicorns"—companies that positively affect one billion lives.
