Founded in December 2018 by the Bankers' Associations in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden, the Nordic Payments Council (NPC) works to harmonize the Nordic payments market. Its primary mission is to establish, manage, and develop rulebooks for Nordic payment schemes, ensuring their effective implementation and fostering a more integrated and efficient payment infrastructure. The NPC's work supports the vision of a single domestic and cross-border payments area in the Nordics, facilitating innovation, competition, and efficiency for the benefit of all stakeholders, including banks, consumers, and businesses.
