The Business and Innovation Agency was established in January 2022 through the merger of two prior state foundations, KredEx and Enterprise Estonia (EAS). KredEx was originally founded in 2001 by the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications to improve financing options for enterprises, manage credit risks, and develop the housing sector. The new joint agency continues and expands upon this mission, aiming to build a successful Estonia by developing its entrepreneurship and economic environment. It provides a comprehensive range of services, including loans, risk capital, credit insurance, and guarantees to help Estonian companies grow and export, as well as offering guarantees for home loans to private individuals.
