Founded in 1989, ISLA is a trade association that advocates on behalf of its members, who comprise over 190 firms from more than 20 countries, including institutional investors, asset managers, and broker-dealers. The association's mission is to promote the efficiency and stability of the securities lending market by providing industry leadership, developing standards and best practices (such as the Global Master Securities Lending Agreement - GMSLA), and representing the industry's interests to regulatory bodies. ISLA also facilitates networking and provides educational resources to market participants.
