Homeownership Equality Research Organization (HERO) is a non-profit organization that functions as a research and policy think tank. Its stated mission is to address systemic barriers within the U.S. housing and mortgage finance system that disproportionately affect communities of color and low- to moderate-income families. HERO conducts in-depth research, analyzes policy, and convenes diverse stakeholders to develop and promote innovative solutions aimed at making responsible homeownership more accessible and sustainable for all Americans.
