Founded in 1902, Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. operated as the holding company for The Fauquier Bank, a community-focused financial institution headquartered in Warrenton, Virginia. For over a century, the bank provided a full range of personal and commercial banking services, including loans, deposits, wealth management, and mortgage services to individuals and businesses in the Fauquier County and surrounding Northern Virginia region. In a "merger of equals" that closed in April 2021, Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. merged with Virginia National Bankshares Corporation. The combined holding company was renamed Patriot Bankshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTBS), and the respective bank subsidiaries merged to operate as Patriot Bank, N.A.
