Farm Credit Bank of Texas
Information by Research Trustfinance
Farm Credit Bank of Texas is one of the four wholesale banks within the Farm Credit System, a government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) created by Congress in 1916. As a cooperative owned by its borrowers, the bank's mission is to support rural communities and agriculture. It does not lend directly to the public but instead provides wholesale loans, credit, and related services to 14 local Farm Credit lending cooperatives and two other financing institutions in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Texas. These local associations then provide retail credit and financial services to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, and rural landowners.
