Founded in 1972 as Steyr Hellas S.A. and later renamed ELVO, the Hellenic Vehicle Industry has a long history of producing vehicles for the Greek Armed Forces and international clients. The company has manufactured a wide range of products from civilian buses to military tanks like the Leopard 2 HEL. After facing financial difficulties, the company was acquired in 2021 by an Israeli consortium (SK Group & Plasan Sasa Ltd.), which is relaunching its production and development capabilities with a focus on advanced military vehicle solutions.
