Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is the sixth largest of the ten regulated water and sewerage companies in England and Wales. Since 2001, it has been owned by Glas Cymru, a single-purpose, not-for-profit company with no shareholders. This unique ownership structure allows the company to focus on reinvesting any financial surpluses back into its services and infrastructure to benefit its customers. It is responsible for providing over three million people with a continuous supply of high-quality drinking water and for taking away and treating their wastewater. The company was formed in 1989 following the privatisation of the water industry in England and Wales.
