Digital Ventures was founded in 2016 as the corporate venture capital (CVC) arm of Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Thailand's first bank. Its mission was to drive innovation in the financial services industry by investing in and collaborating with startups in areas like FinTech. In 2020, SCB restructured its digital and technology initiatives, creating SCB 10X as a holding company to oversee its tech investments and ventures. Digital Ventures' role and team were integrated into SCB 10X, which now acts as the group's primary vehicle for venture capital, venture building, and strategic partnerships, with a strong focus on "moonshot" projects in disruptive technologies such as Blockchain, DeFi, Web3, and AI.
