Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (operating as CPP Investments) is a Canadian Crown corporation established by an Act of Parliament in 1997. It is a global investment management organization with a mandate to invest the assets of the Canada Pension Plan in a way that maximizes returns without undue risk of loss. Operating independently from the Canada Pension Plan and at arm's length from governments, CPP Investments invests in a diversified portfolio of public equities, private equities, real estate, infrastructure, and fixed income instruments across the globe to ensure the long-term sustainability of the CPP fund.
