Collect America Commercial Services Inc. operated as a third-party and first-party commercial debt collection agency. It was a subsidiary of SquareTwo Financial (formerly Collect America, Ltd.), one of the largest debt buyers and collectors in the United States. The company focused on purchasing and managing portfolios of charged-off consumer and commercial debt from financial institutions and other creditors. In March 2017, the parent company, SquareTwo Financial, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which led to the wind-down and cessation of operations for its subsidiaries, including Collect America.
